From hosting a party to traditional Irish fare, Maple Grove has it all.

You don’t have to be Irish to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, especially in Maple Grove, where your luck overflows when it comes to charming ways to host a party while not spending too much of your pot o’ gold!

Throwing an Irish Party

Head to Goodwill, located at 9530 Dunkirk Lane N., where you’ll find all things green, including vases, candles, wreaths and even green sweaters or shirts. Clothing is sorted by color, so it’s easy! You can even enlist the kids. Have them “search for green” and gather items to decorate a room, table or the entire first floor of your house for very little “green.”

The Dollar Tree at The Fountains at Arbor Lakes has mints, candy and countless green party favors and supplies, like green tablecloths, plates, silverware, cups and more for just a dollar each.

For the meal, Costco’s corned beef brisket or banger is always a hit. Or, head to Trader Joe’s at The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes to plan an Irish potluck or happy hour. Celtic cheese and Irish cheddar displayed with crackers is a hit with adults and kids. You could even host a green potluck with dishes featuring green foods like broccoli, sliced kiwi, green grapes and green-frosted cookies, or guacamole and nacho chips! Pick up a shamrock plant, and you have the perfect centerpiece.

Drink options are also endless. Try Irish whiskey, Guinness and Irish cream liquor, perfect for creating Irish coffee.

Hosting not your thing?

Head to Main Street, where traditional Irish events and eats are plentiful!
