Kick off the first day of the historic 2020 MN Winter Carnival with this celebration of lights. Get decked out in all your glow gear and join the parade as it makes its way from the Landmark Center to Kellogg Mall Park. Compete in this year’s new KIDS’ decorating contest by adorning your stroller, a wagon, yourself or other nonmotorized forms of transportation in light. Head to Main Street of Arbor Lakes to take pleasure in a series of festive activities. There will be carriage rides, carolers and hot chocolate. The return of the Sleigh Bells and the Sparkle Parade is also something to look forward to. The parade will start at 5 p.m. at the intersection near Coldstone Creamery, continue down Main Street, and end at the plaza. Join Santa and Mrs. Claus there for the tree lighting ceremony.

Come embrace winter and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities at Kroening Interpretive Center’s Winter Solstice Celebration. Families can participate in a nature walk along a luminary trail and make their own luminaries to bring home. Other activities include winter themed games, face painting and a bonfire.

Jessica Chung is holding a workshop to learn everything from the basics of holding a calligraphy pen to mastering drawing letters and building your own style.
