“Being a Maple Grove Lake commissioner, representing [Edward Lake] and actively involved in our lake association, I am always keeping my eye open for interesting and unique views of the local lakes to share with others,” says hobbyist photographer Sharon Kotula. “I find nature so healing and inspirational, and depending on the season, weather conditions, lighting, etc., [it’s] never the same twice. On this particular evening, the setting sun reflecting off the ice and clouds created such amazing, distinctive shadows, showcasing the footprints alongside the shimmering body of frozen water.”
