In its 15 year history, the Maple Grove Polar Plunge has raised more than $2.1 million dollars for Special Olympics Minnesota. The event, which typically takes place in February, welcomes plungers of all abilities to dive in the chilly waters at Fish Lake Regional Park. plungemn.org

Hosted twice per year, the Maple Grove Home Show welcomes area residents to dive into their home remodeling or interior design projects. It features resources, savings and professionals from several areas, including landscaping and gardening; heating and air, solar and insulation; new construction; kitchen and baths; home furnishings and more. Maple Grove and area residents look forward to Chalkfest at Arbor Lakes each year, as the event brings dazzling chalk art creations to life. The free, two-day festival is complete with entertainment, food and fun for the whole family—artists from all over the world come together on Main Street to showcase their creative talents. Planned by Maple Grove Community Organization (MGSO), Maple Grove Days is the biggest celebration and has brought together the community for over 30 years. It started as a small parade and has since turned into five days of fun for the whole family. The celebration includes a medallion hunt, outdoor movies, a business expo, outdoor yoga and tournaments, fireworks and, of course, a parade. mgco.org

Have a scary good time at Halloween Family Fun Day, hosted by MGCO. Bring a goodie bag to be filled with candy and trinkets, or get crafty at the craft table—don’t forget to practice your best scream! You’ll have a howling good time at the Scream Off.
