Ice skate indoors at Maple Grove Community Center.
The season for snow activities is coming to a close, but don’t put away those ice skates just yet. The Maple Grove community has many ice rink locations for your enjoyment and one in particular is indoors, allowing more time on the ice even after the snow starts to melt. “If you compare it to outdoors you’re going to get consistent weather, which is always a perk. You’ll also tend to get a more quality ice surface to skate on,” says James Beckius, the community center’s lead ice-arena maintenance technician.
The indoor arena is especially choice for beginners. “On the outside rink there can be ruts, which makes it a little more challenging for new skaters to work on,” he says. The indoor rinks compression system ensures smooth skating this spring season.
Weekend open skate is $5 for Maple Grove residents and $6 for non-residents; skate rentals are $3. Coupon books are available—you receive 10 coupons for $45 and they never expire. Find more informatoin at the Maple Grove Community Center website.
