Mens’ wedding fashion has evolved—look toward uniquely you suits for your big day, or perhaps a navy or black suit for a classic option.

Choosing the perfect outfit can be one of the most taxing tasks, especially for one of life’s most important days. Finding a suit that looks great and fits perfectly can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack, until walking through the doors of Knights Chamber. Located in Maple Grove, this formal wear boutique has perfected the suit and tux game for men.

Knights Chamber opened in 1973 as a locally owned and operated business—today, the boutique is stocked with a large selection of wool and blended suits and has been voted as a Best of Maple Grove winner. It is co-owned by Chris Bitzan, whose father opened the business, and Tariq Isaacson, who has been in the industry for nearly a decade and has mastered the art of guiding people through the decision-making process—from color and texture to pattern and accessories.

At Knights Chamber, every customer purchases their suit. Isaacson says. “Most of the specialty stores have gotten out of the rental business, and most rental stores have folded.” Knights Chamber sells suits for the same price as renting but with the added perks of custom tailoring as well as the longevity and future use of the suit. There is no deposit required and no hassle of pick up/drop off windows. “We can take care of changes or adjustments weeks before an event,” Isaacson says. Size offerings are expansive, outfitting young ones as small as 6 months and in-stock suit options up to 64L.

Plan Ahead

Isaacson encourages wedding parties to plan ahead, as outfitting the groom and groomsmen can sometimes take a back seat to other wedding priorities. “Most wedding parties come in three or four months before the wedding,” Isaacson says. “I’d plan closer to six months ahead to ensure everything goes smoothly with choosing products, ordering and tailoring.” Once scheduled, appointments are hosted in the wedding consult area with over 50 full-size samples of the offerings to touch and explore hands-on.

There are certain colors and styles that remain favorites from year to year and trends that reveal themselves as customers come in to make selections. “Black and navy are our top sellers, hands down,” Isaacson says. “Close seconds are charcoal and light gray, but past that, there are certain colors that surprise us.” In the last year, brown tones were the center of attention for weddings—sand, beige, chocolate and earthy tones took the cake (so to speak), while shades of green were seen at many ceremonies prior to this year. Most guests lean toward a poly-blend fabric based on affordability, but wool blends are an option as well.

Get Into the Details

Ties are often preferred over bow ties and skinny ties over regular width—it often boils down to personal preference. “Sometimes, the bow tie is the differentiator between the groom and groomsmen,” Isaacson says. And for that, the options are endless. “If the groom is trying to stand out, a different colored vest works great,” Isaacson says. “Cufflinks or tie bars, suspenders, style of shoes or even a nice hat for the party portion of the night are all available to consider.” Cufflinks with gem stones or wood grain inlay, argyle and paisley socks, belts with fun buckles are great possibilities for the final touch on a suit that’s uniquely yours.
