Life Time broke ground on a two-story, 120,000-square-foot flagship athletic country club this summer, and its new Minnesota Health Village location at 16000 Grove Circle N. will be almost double the size of the current Life Time fitness center on 82nd Ave. N. Anticipated to open late 2027, the project follows a land exchange agreement finalized with the City of Maple Grove in late 2024, stating that once Life Time has transitioned into the new location, the city will take ownership of the current center to add onto the adjacent community center.
Life Time public relations manager Dan DeBaun says the new club will include the luxurious design touches and features that its members have come to expect. “It will have an outdoor pool and beach club, pickleball courts, a full-service LifeSpa, expanded studio and strength space, and a Kids Academy,” DeBaun says. The flagship athletic country club reflects a broader, resort-style investment taking place within the company and its original Minnesota market. “Our focus is on building places that function as a true third place for our members, where they can live a healthy, happy life and find community,” he says.
Since opening in 2005, DeBaun says the demand for Life Time in Maple Grove has grown steadily alongside the city. “This is a community investing seriously in their health and wellness, and we wanted to build something that matches that ambition,” he says. Of the new amenities for the athletic country club location, one stands out to DeBaun as being particularly exciting. “The outdoor beach club at the new Life Time Maple Grove will be a big highlight with lap and leisure pools, a water slide, cabanas, ample poolside seating and a bistro serving healthy poolside eats,” he says.
A future phase of construction will also see the addition of Life Time Living apartments to the Minnesota Health Village campus.
