Photographer finds respite, creativity in local park.

Shade placed second in the City Landscape category for the annual Focus on Maple Grove photo contest. Guiyun Qu took the photo in Central Park, a favorite place for the photographer to visit. “I’ve taken many pictures there … When I am tired, I sit on the bench under the structure [and] enjoy the surroundings. Taking a walk there in the summertime becomes my routine,” Qu says. As Qu chose to take the photo, the scene reminded Qu “how peaceful the world can be.”

Qu also enjoys visiting the Arbor Lakes area for additional photo opportunities.
