Maple Grove is home to Minnesota’s first indoor dry-slide and air court park, Slick City, opened by co-owners Mike and Annie Kelly. Its 43,000-square-foot facilities offer a variety of thrilling activities. Slides include the Fast Lane, the Royal Flush and the Mega Launch. There’s also the Junior Jungle, a playground for children under 45 inches, and the Sport Air Courts, combining trampolines and shooting hoops.
“Each attraction is designed to provide a different kind of adventure, and we love seeing families and friends challenge themselves to try them all,” Mike says. “Our goal was to create a dynamic space where kids and adults alike could enjoy thrilling experiences together. We wanted to build a park that felt energetic, innovative and full of adventure.”
Mike says that part of the park’s appeal is its versatility and availability year-round. “As parents, we know how challenging it can be to find engaging indoor activities, especially during the long winters,” Mike says. “We’re thrilled to see families already enjoying it since the recent opening!” —Emma Souza
The first Slick City location opened at the beginning of 2022 in Denver. Since then, park locations have rapidly expanded across the country. “When we discovered Slick City, we immediately saw the potential to bring something fresh and exciting to Maple Grove,” Mike says. “We’ve always wanted to bring something unique to Minnesota, especially a place where families could stay active and have fun all year-round.”
In addition to the play area, the park boasts a 5,300-square-foot space for hosting events of any nature. It also offers a mezzanine level for parents to watch the action. “We designed our space to accommodate over 50 parties a day, so whether it’s a birthday celebration, a corporate team-building event or just a fun day out, we’re ready to host it all,”Mike says.
Ticket pricing is flexible, so guests can choose an experience that’s right for them. The Action Ticket, for guests ages 4 and older, provides 90-minute access to slides and air courts starting at $26.99. Junior Tickets, for guests 3 and under, provides access to the Junior Jungle and Web Crawler starting at $14.99. Prices vary per duration of play. All participants must additionally wear CitySocks, available for $4.99.
