A festive holiday photo shoot raises funds for a local nonprofit.
Steffany Fleming describes Inspire & Flourish as a sometimes lesser-known part of the animal rescue puzzle. “We’re not always the face of everything,” she says. “But you know, when you see a dog at an adoption center, there’s a lot of work that went behind that to get that dog where it is today. And that’s the kind of stuff we do.” The Maple Grove nonprofit goes where it’s needed, whether that’s Bemidji to rescue dogs from a breeder or up past Hinkley to neuter and release stray cats. “The goal is to help out as many animals as we can,” she says. “Each animal has its own story.”
To help fund its efforts, Inspire & Flourish is hosting its annual Glam Holiday Dog Photo Shoot with Britta Marie Studios from 1–4 p.m. November 14 at Under Pressure Brewing in Golden Valley. “I do a lot of rescue work in the community, so I own a lot of accessories,” Fleming says, adding that people are often blown away by the selection. Many use the pup portraits for their Christmas cards, but attendees aren’t limited to the holiday theme. “I do have a whole section on Christmas, so it can be festive,” Fleming says, noting Hanukkah is an option too.
