Elm Creek Park Reserve offers plenty of winter fun for the family dog.
In this neck of the woods/Midwest, there are plenty of folks who dream of and hope for snow—and lots of it. Included in the group could be your family dog.
Three Rivers Parks includes the 4,900-acre Elm Creek Park Reserve, featuring plenty of outdoor cold-weather amenities at its Winter Recreation Area. Cross country skiing, tubing, downhill and telemark skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and sledding are perfect for the human winter lover, but how about dogs? What’s in it for them?
The park reserve has them covered, too. Skijoring (human on cross-country skis with the dog on a leash) and dog-sledding options are available because, you know, even dogs come down with cases of cabin fever.
Be sure to check the park’s website for weather and trail conditions.
